Uplift campuses are now part of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Air Quality Flag Program to inform parents, scholars and staff of the daily air quality in our area. Each day’s flag color will correspond with the EPA’s Air Quality Index which measures pollutants in the air.
Flag colors and the corresponding air quality conditions are as follows:
- Green-good air quality
- Yellow-moderate air quality
- Orange-unhealthy for some people, including children and those with asthma
- Red-unhealthy for everyone
- Purple- very unhealthy for everyone
Just because a level is orange or red, doesn’t mean scholars cannot go outside, but outdoor activities will be curtailed. We will make indoor space available for any child with a sensitive respiratory system or who shows signs of difficulty under these conditions.
The Air Quality Flag Program is used in many cities in the U. S. and we’re proud to be a part of the program! For more information on the Flag Program, visit the website at AirNow.gov
