Summer Programs In Your Community

Summer is here, but there are plenty of opportunities for scholars to remain active. The below list offers a few of the many available scholar engagement opportunities across the Metroplex, before we return to school on August 6*.


DALLAS

Uplift Summer Food Program 

Mon-Fri
6/9/19-7/9/19
Breakfast: 7:30 a.m.-7:55 a.m.
Lunch: 12:30 p.m.-1:00 p.m.

Dallas Locations: Uplift Hampton, Uplift Peak and Uplift Williams

This summer meals program provides kids and teens (ages 18 and younger only) free breakfast and lunch during the summer. *Kids do not have to be enrolled with Uplift to access this benefit. *Excludes week of July 4th* FREE- No registration required. 

North Texas Food Bank

Multiple Locations/ times may vary

  1. Visit the North Texas Food Bank website.
  2. Complete the form to find services near you.
  3. Choose your preferred language, city, state, and maximum distance you’d like to travel to obtain assistance.
  4. Pick a category of services. There are multiple services offered. For food distribution, select Food Pantry.
  5. A list of options with contact information for the sites will be provided.

Yoga and Mindfulness Fitness

IRVING 

Summer Splash Camp

Mon-Fri
7:00am-6:00pm

Summer Splash Camp is designed to keep children active and engaged. Activities include swimming, arts and crafts, sports, video games, and twice-a-week field trips to places such as Six Flags, Rangers games, Main Event centers, Medieval Times and local zoos.

**Morning and afternoon snacks included. Free lunch program is offered at all locations EXCEPT Mustang Park Recreation Center.

iCode Summer Camp

iCode Summer campers immerse themselves in a world of coding, robotics, drones, and design. Our camps are perfect for kids who have great imaginations, enjoy solving challenges or simply love technology. Moreover, summer camps are a great way to gain insight into our year-round curriculum. Engineering and Computer Science Summer Camp

Location: UTA Arlington

A team of engineering professors and graduate and undergraduate students from all of UTA’s engineering departments present material from all of UTA’s engineering disciplines – aerospace, biomedical, civil, computer science, electrical, environmental, industrial, materials science, and mechanical. 

Boys and Girls Club Grand Prairie

This summer’s activities will include: Dance Classes, Swimming & Swim Lessons, Intramural Basketball League, Sports Camps ,Arts & Crafts , Academic Camps.


FORT WORTH

TCU Summer Camps 

Mon-Fri

Location: Texas Christian University

This summer at TCU, we are offering over 80 campus that are project based and designed to teach S.T.E.M. concepts through hands-on, interactive learning. Summer campus at TCI are full of fun, learning and more fun!
