Uplift Meridian hits the pavement

IMG_1853Nearly 30 scholars will represent Uplift Meridian at The Cowtown Marathon  in Fort Worth on February 27.

The school received a grant through The Cowtown C.A.L.F.  (Children’s Activities for Life & Fitness) program which discounts the entry fee for scholars and provides them with running shoes. Uplift Meridian scholars were fitted for their new running shoes for the big race, the Cowtown Kids 5k, on February 8. The purpose of the program is to promote and educate children in creating a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and nutrition.

Scholars began training for the 3.1 miles (5k) in the fall.
