The National Merit Scholarship Program has honored 18 members of the Uplift North Hills Preparatory Class of 2016, naming 6 seniors National Merit Semifinalists and 12 seniors National Merit Commended Scholars. Statuses are based on each student’s 2014 PSAT/NMSQT scores.

The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of US high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.  Congratulations to the following UNHP seniors named 2016 National Merit Semifinalists:  Ahmad Ahsen, Tanvi Mehta, Zuhair Mohammed, Maitreya Movva, Divya Pattathil and Kriti Sinha.

Commended Scholars placed among the top 5% of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition.  Congratulations to the following seniors named 2016 National Merit Commended Scholars:  Elijah Cruda, Ava Grob, Bilaal Hassan, Shamikh Hossain, Kenny Jen, Stacey Jose, Prathima Kandukuri, Sandra Leigh, Sujal Manohar, John Nam, Colin Ornelas, and Katherine Yip.
